Privacy Policy and Procedures: Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Eligibility: Full-time and part-time contracted employees are eligible the first of the month after receiving first paycheck.

Eligibility: Full-time and part-time contracted employees are eligible on October 1 of each school year or the first of the month following the first paycheck if hired after Oct. 1.

Who pays? Employee

Benefit highlights: Option to pay non-covered health care expenses, co-pays and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Eligibility: Full-time 12-month employees are eligible after 6 months of full-time, consecutive employment.

Who pays? NNPS

Vacation time accumulation:

  • 0-5 years - 1 day per month
  • 6-10 years - 1.25 days per month
  • 11+ years - 1.5 days per month

Eligibility: Full-time and part-time contracted employees; half available upon employment (prorated if hired late) and the remaining balance in February.

Who pays? NNPS

Employee Sick Time Accumulation (VRS Plan 1 & 2):

  • 10-month: Up to 12 sick days (3 can be used as personal)
  • 11-month: Up to 13 sick days (4 can be used as personal)
  • 12-month: Up to 15 sick days (5 can be used as personal)

Accumulation of sick leave is limited to a maximum of 240 days.

Employee Sick Time Accumulation (VRS Hybrid Retirement Plan):

  • 10-month: Up to 10 sick days (3 can be used as personal)
  • 11-month: Up to 10 sick days (4 can be used as personal)
  • 12-month: Up to 10 sick days (5 can be used as personal)

Eligibility:

  • Hired before 7/1/2010: All instructional and administrative contracted employees working greater than or equal to 60% full-time equivalency are eligible the first of the month after receiving first paycheck.
  • Hired after 7/1/2010: Instructional and administrative contracted employees working greater than or equal to 80% full-time equivalency are eligible the first of the month after receiving first paycheck.

Who pays? NNPS

Benefit highlights: The amount of sick leave accrued prior to the beginning of disability determines the monetary amount of disability paid to employee.

Eligibility:

  • Hired before 7/1/2010: All contracted employees working greater than or equal to 100% full-time equivalency are eligible upon employment.
  • Hired after 7/1/2010: All contracted employees working 100% full-time equivalency are eligible upon employment.

  • Plan 1: NNPS
  • Plan 2: Employee

Benefit highlights: Retirement benefits vested after 5 years of service credit have been earned.
