Quick Guide for Reporting Absences in ParentVUE

Important reminder: This process is only for parents and guardians. A ParentVUE account is required to report absences. Review Newport News Public Schools Attendance Procedures. Submitting an absence does not automatically excuse the student. Each absence must be reviewed and approved by the school. Parents will receive an email notification once the absence is approved or denied.

How to Submit Absences in ParentVUE

We’re excited to introduce Parent-Submitted Attendance reporting via ParentVUE! Parents and guardians can now report both future and past student absences directly through ParentVUE, available on web or mobile.

This new feature streamlines attendance reporting, saving time for both families and school staff, while ensuring timely communication about absences. Please make sure you are familiar with the NNPS Student Attendance Procedures.
